So I was very resistant to the idea of going to see the 21 Jump Street movie, but I'm glad I did. )

Maybe one of these days I'll actually finish season 4...

Meanwhile I find I am unable to get the Han Solo song out of my head. (Do the trash compactor!) Maybe I'll try some Yugioh Abridged (thx, remix issue!) for a palate cleanser. (God knows that's the only way I'm ever going to watch that show.)

We just saw Ioki and Penhall's crossdressing roommates story. What genre of fic will Jump Street tackle next?

Jump Street: The Hooker AU )

It's been months since I watched Jump Street season 3 and intended-to-cap it. But, in a fever of vidding-procrastination, I have finally started actually capping.

First, up: The JV episode! "Swallowed Alive."

Everyone goes undercover in juvie. Why? Who cares! )

Whew, that took longer than I thought. I have more eps capped or about-to-be, so expect more soon!

fenlings: (Default)
The Lash episode of Sentinel was very happying of course. There was sexonacouch!Blair and bondage!Blair, and yay Jim having to rescue him.

Jason Carter was also very cute on Sentinel, but it led to thoughts that omg DUG started here! And that made me giggle whenever he was onscreen.

Odyssey 5 is good, just like I thought it would be. And Longinus is very good in it yay just like he always is. ::hearts Longinus liek whoa...but not enough to remember his actorish name right now::

I HEARD THERE WILL BE A NEW SHARPE MOVIE! YAY! Like a real movie, maybe, not like a TV-movie miniseries thing. Now I just have to...watch all the other Sharpe movies ever. There are about 16 I think...

Where are the new "Boondock Saints" and "Last Unicorn" movies? They've been "in production" for like two years! Come on already!

I'm excited about the new Narnia movies, of course, even if I feel like I can't look at Susan without crying because Oh Susan, stockings and boys are *not* as important as Aslan! You used to be so- so wonderful! And now you never get to go back to Narnia Heaven. ::sniff:: But I *am* annoyed at all the "For years the creatures of the Chronicles of Narnia have existed only in the imaginations of its readers." Um, and in the eyes of the millions of people who saw the BBC Narnia movies. I have all those movies, and I really love them. Caspian is hot, yo. I'm irked that no one seems to remember them now.

I saw Serenity yay! But it was on the WORST CAM EVER BUU. The "giant head cam," as it will forever live in infamy, is the only copy of Serenity out there as of yet, but that needs to be remedied now. ::stern look at people in the West with videocameras and common sense::

Oh, and WASH LIIIIIIIIVES!

RL-ish entry and Persuaders!entry still...to come. ::runs away::

I just watched my first Man from Uncle ever! )

Vidrec: Polka Party by Waldo.
I especially liked "Ghetto Superstar," "I'm not sick, but I'm not well," and the Spice Girls song. Morden=Posh Spice omg! <3 The "Closing Time" vidlet wasn't that exciting, but I could *not stop* saying "Yay!" at regular intervals every time Methos and Joe appeared on screen. Such is the Power of the Multi-Fandom Vid. It makes us squee for every second our favorite fandom (Methos) is given in the vid, no matter how well-crafted a second. It's like we're competing with other fandoms for the title of "Most Worthy of Being Vidded." ::shakes head::

Fannish Entry!

THE PERSUADERS OMG PICS )

Vidrec time! Xandra's QAF-Angel crossover "Touched."

Crossovers are really freaking *hard* to do, but she pulled it off, and she made it good, and more importantly, she made it *hot*. ::applauds::

Random school update: The vice-principal, during cleaning today, had the end of his tie stuffed into his breast pocket. I hid behind my laptop and laughed and laughed.

Jump Street Squee and Picspam )

The Sentinel OMG FINALLY! )

And, um,

Gay cowboys in love.

That is all.

Today was a spotting familiar actors day! There was Brian Blessed on "Blake's 7" playing his standard "crazy man" character. Then there was John Rhys-Davies (Arturo!) on "Robin of Sherwood" playing a King Richard I really wanted to trust but who was ultimately EVOL OMG. And finally there was the Doctor from "Voyager" in Jump Street.

Ah, Jump Street. I really love the way that Doug and Tommy always kiss and cuddle Hoffs. And the way they all are so physically affectionate with each other. OMG the new captain paired Tommy with Hoffs instead of Doug, and Tommy was all whining to him "But I usually go undercover with Doug!" and I swear to *God* the new captain asked, "Are you two dating?" And then Tommy just smiled and didn't answer. BECAUSE THEIR LOVE IS SO OBVIOUS THAT STRANGERS CAN TELL WITHIN MOMENTS OF MEETING THEM OMFG.

Um, I'm afraid I succumbed to the lure of the screencap again. But look how pretty! )

fenlings: (Default)
We take this time from our regularly-scheduled updates to bring you Jump Street picspam! Beware! )

I, uh, went a little crazy. I like the pretty pictures. Yes. )

Fraser vid is coming along more, but Fraser is still being recalcitrant. It's almost as if he didn"t *want* to be beaten and tortured and betrayed and abandoned...

fenlings: (Default)
Robin of Sherwood is so good! )

I watched the first episode of "Blake's 7," and while I'm certainly impressed with the writers' ruthlessness and Serious Storytelling skillz, it was so dour! It wasn't fun to watch and I don't care about anyone yet. Move faster, story! I found it hard to believe that they would put one woman in the holding cell with like a dozen men who were hardened criminals, no matter how sedated everyone is or how respected she is. Can we say "gang rape"? Sheesh. I thought the special effects were very commendable for the time it was made, and got the job done, but were rather silly. At the trial, I had this surreal vision of Ray the Angry Clown juggling the evidence and judgement balls. Thank you, Speranza.

Jump Streety Goodness )

Cut for ponfarr!Vincent )

Okay, quick "Jeremiah" question. When he's being all tortured by Valhalla Sector, Jeremiah says "There are a lot of other bases out there just like this one. They all probably have their own president!" So, they only destroy the thousands of people (and all their |337 old world knowledge) in *this* base. What about the other ones? Aren't they still going to claim to be the government? And what about the children who must have survived the Valhalla Big Death. Where are they? Hmm. I feel like the loose ends of Valhalla Sector were left hanging so we could move on to Daniel. And all these evol groups starting out with such good intentions is kinda ominous for the Western Alliance isn't it? Oh, I forgot, Marcus is incorruptible. Mmm, but Jeremiah in jail and tortured and angsty is VERY PRETTY YES.

OMG KERMIT <3333 SO! MUCH! LOVE!
I wonder if Frank or Brian wrote this. JIM LIVES!

Cut for elfsex )

My anime is still unwatched, and more of it is burned unwatched now (something I try not to do) to make room for "Beauty and the Beast," "Blake's 7," "Jeremiah," "Robin," and "The Sentinel." ::facepalm::

I didn't feel the earthquake. An alarm went off for like 2 minutes and that was the end of it. Yay for not dying.

Also yay for my printer coming! Now I only have to wait for my keyboard... ::criez at extreme slowness of typing::

I took the train (by myself!) and climbed this Hill of Death to get to Nishi Chugakkou. It is the smallest school, but it looks fine if I can just *get* there without *dying*. The Principal was very cute and making conversation about kanji homophones and I told him some lame English ones.

I'm working on a Fraser angst vid (I know, way out on a limb for me), but it is Not Going Well. I can't seem to get in the zone, and am convinced right now that the vid sucks like a giant sucking thing. A giant ball of suckiness. ::weeps:: Everything I do either seems too *obvious* or irrelevant, and I'm having a bit of a time finding clips. I have about 1 min out of 5 vidded, so I have a LOT of work left to do. ::is daunted:: I'm just glad that my *job* isn't interfering with my work yet.

YAY "Mamma Mia" was v. amusing. Silly and flashy and fun. But no one in the audience was laughing because they were Japanese, so I couldn't laugh too loud. OMG the half-naked boys dancing in *flippers* and seducing the older woman yay. It wasn't a good musical by any stretch of the imagination, and it was weird to hear familiar songs like "Kimi wa Dancing Queen" and "Kore Chansu yo" with those Japanese lyrics, but it was highly campy fun and I could understand most of it.

But how sad is it that when the overture was playing all I could think about was that OMG this was the music of Ray Kowalski's teenage years! Then I drifted away on daydreams of teenage!RayK rollerskating and dancing to ABBA with glitter in his hair... Which led to thoughts of punk!earlytwenties!RayK in the 80s. Which led to thoughts of Heuradys' "knifelickingomg" vid. And then the curtain came up and I had to stop.

Speaking of punks, yay for 21 Jump Street and its window into punk fashion. )

Watched "Whiskey Echo" yesterday and wow. Uh, depressing. And I was left wondering what would happen to everyone at the end. But CKR was very yay, although I hate when he has his hair that short. His arms and calves were nice and he was all hot and loose-limbed with a secret angsty past and mmm...

Ahem. Libby from "Jeremiah" was there too, which was cool. But I found her character somewhat unsympathetic. The most squeeable part was the cute cute friendship between the English surgeon and the Muslim doctor. "You amaze me too!" Cuteness!

I watched the first episode of Robin of Sherwood, and liked it just as much as I'd expected. )

I've recently finished watching "Young Americans," a WB teen show from 2000. It is utterly silly and contrived except for the last episode, which actually managed to surprise and amuse me (no small feat for a teen drama), and the gay subplot. Yes, folks, there is a GAY SUBPLOT. Which in and of itself is already yay, but it is actually a pretty *good* gay subplot. Of course, the show chickened out and made one of them a girl in disguise, but that didn't stop both of them from being hot and angsty and on her motorcycle and in the boys bathroom and having everyone gossip about their gay dorm room sex. And the femslash possibilities with the motorcycle-riding boy!girl, the girl mechanic, and the little rich girl are...::fans self:: Oh, and there is fake incest too, but somehow it manages to be boring. ::shrugs::

Can I just take this oppotunity to say how much I LOVE SMALLVILLE FICS WHERE CLARK IS THE FIRST LADY! )

Ahem. Yes me likee very muchly.

Okay, so I tried to like SGA. I really did. I watched the first three episodes, but ::whines:: no one is pretty or has any character depth or angst and I don't care about any of the characters so there! Maybe I'll watch a few more just to get to the "gay parts" everyone keeps talking about. But on the whole I am DUBIOUS.

That doesn't stop me from liking some of the fic though, since everyone from "Due South" seems to have emigrated over. Most of what I've read has been mildly boring. But people like Auburn (god her fic is *amazing*), shalott, and kaneko keep me peeking in once and awhile. I suspect, however, that this will be a fandom for me like "Smallvile," wherein I don't really care for the show, but can like the fic. But with Smallville there was at least a reliable supply of eye candy. SGA is just *boring* so far, visually and emotionally. The most engaging characters so far were the guest starring Jack and Daniel. I don't watch SG1, but I liked the movie, and I have affection for J and D from fandom. But blah. I am disturbed about what I hear about John and Aeryn coming to SG1. I'll probably like their characters (in fact, what I hear of Aeryn's thief girl character reminds me a lot of Dureena Nafeel from "Crusade") but I'm still bitter about SciFi promoting SG1 over Farcape, and it feels like they're defecting to the enemy's side.

GAH.

I should probably watch the "Blakes 7" I downloaded a while ago, but I don't want to watch it out of order because it seems like a series with a continuing, complicated plot line. "Beauty and the Beast" is waiting for me too, and I really *should* watch that because I have the eps with the plot points I had questions about (Cathy's death, etc.). I need to WATCH some of the AWESOME ANIME I HAVE, JESUS! This should not be a chore, but so many series in progress already...

I should start my lesson plans and omiyage ick. I ordered a new printer because my scanner glass was cracked in transit, and now I need to order a new keyboard because this one has given up. ::sigh:: I am using an on-screen keyboard--so inconvenient!

fenlings: (Default)
So, uh, just after watching the first episode of "21 Jump Street" I can already tell that I'm gonna like this show. It is soo cheesy. But I like the punks. And all the boys in makeup and earrings and tight clothes, Johnny *Depp* in makeup and earrings and tight clothes GUH. Even though his character is kind of dumb with retarded "issues."

JOHNNY: I am going to be a big, doughnut-eating, potbellied, coffee-drinking cop just like my dead father no matter *what*!

ANY OTHER CHARACTER: Uh, you don't exactly look like the type to be that kind of cliche...

JOHNNY: LALALA JUST LIKE MY FATHER!

ANY OTHER CHARACTER: In fact, aren't you a little young to be--

JOHNNY: ::eyes turn red:: You did not just go there!

::PUNCH!::
::SMACKDOWN!::
::FALSE ARREST!::
::GETS IN TROUBLE!::

-----
OTHER CHARACTERS: [insert gratuitous use of arcane 80s slang here].

JOHNNY: What means this [repeats slang with adorable embarassed brow wrinkle]? For, verily, I am out of touch with the urban vernacular. And also, I was beaten up in school because I was too pretty.

OTHER CHARACTERS: Uh, okay. But here in the Chapel of Immaturity, I mean, Justice, we don't beat up those who are pretty, we dress them up! And do their hair! And put makeup and jewelry and tight pants and leather on them!

JOHNNY: Are you sure this is really part of being a cop...

OTHER CHARACTERS: BELIEVE US. Your job requires you to look as pretty as possible! For real! ::stare blankly at him::

JOHNNY: ::messes up the job again::

OTHER CHARACTERS: ::shake heads:: Geez, its a good thing you're pretty.

I so applaud their priorites of making everyone look pretty first, and then teaching them some job skills. And I'm sorry, but his Issue is way too overplayed. (And God, could that fake "conversation" between Johnny and his dad have sounded any more like two robots speaking? Seriously, this does not tug on my heartstrings.) I could see some fic about the fact that he misses his dad and some high school or academy fic about always getting beat up because he was pretty. In fact, if someone could write a fic where he has like a traumatic experience and his abuser always talks about how young he is or something, then I could make sense of that being a trigger in canon. Please someone write a fic to make it make sense to me (like Hth's "Sybilla Ti Theleis" made sense of Vecchio and Stella owning a bowling alley) because right now it doesn't.

Haha, I can't believe I'm talking about it this much after only the first episode. But the black captain from "Forever Knight" guest starred in this episode as a bad guy, hee. And it was funny to see Peter DeLuise looking semiattractive with that earring. It's a fact of life that earrings make everyone look better.

Oh the Eighties! I'm waiting impatiently for another 80s show to finish downloading: "Robin of Sherwood." I'm really excited, it seems like just my kind of show. *^_^*

Hmm. All these English-speaking shows I've been watching since Due South took over my brain... I mean, not that I didn't watch English shows before, it's just that I watched anime too. I need to start watching some of the vast amounts of anime I have lying about. That would probably help with my Japanese. (Although not my kanji ::cries::)

I'm going to go see "Mama Mia" today. I hope I can understand enough of it...

I watched the new "Thomas Crown Affair" yesterday. Entertaining, but not as good as the original. Cute little references to the original throughout though. Faye Dunaway looks really good.

I got a keitai the other day and it is so nifty! All these little features I had no idea existed! Japanese-English dictionary among them. ::grins::

I spilled a little water on my comp last night. And though it seems to be okay, it seems now that my q key is broken. Bummer. ::huggles computer:: Computer, I'll never take you for granted. I won't lose you to fire or water!
