I definitely agree with you about slash done right; too often romances want to convince the reader that the entire point of one's existence is to find the person with whom one can be utterly codependent in order to achieve happiness. Growth as a person (or character) and love found along the way is much more appealing to me. And, wow, I'm flattered that you found that in my vid. Yay. ::cheers::
