The main point of this drama is that Nobuta and Shuji and Akira are IN LOVE FOREVER.
(God, canon triads make me GIDDY. Witness: Fruits Basket, Design for Living, 9/Rose/Jack, Wheel of Time, Bedlam's Bard, Avaryan Chronicles...)
But there are other characters too!
I mean, how kickass awesome are Catherine and Delphine??? I want to be like them when I'm old.
James kind of freaks me out, though, because I do have a half named James in one of my sannensei classes (jhs tho), and he kind of looks like this James, except *much* prettier and less inclined to follow the group. He's a California boy. omg I totally don't perve on my studentsmuch, even when they're all rubbing up on each other all the time and stroking each other in same-sex clumps.
(And wtf is up with the CGI end credits? The random pig hurt/comfort, ijime, falling in love...wha? I mean, I get the pig reference, but it's like scenes from a strange other show, or something. ...Maybe the book?)
ANYWAY YES. The threesome of LOVE. They have their little commitment ceremony in front of the class by tying strings into circles which magically link themselves together into a CHAIN OF LOVE, they have little magic pigs from Chile which will ensure that they're friends forever and enable them to share dreams, Catherine gives them 3 dolls--2 boys and one girl--that are supposed to bring happiness when all of them are put together, Nobuta can't choose between Shuuji and Akira as her most important person and she'd rather suffer through something bad as all three together, the list goes on.
They're *such* a triad, they are all three *soinlove* with each other. And it's my favorite kind of threesome too! YAY! (Not to mention the gay. Of which there is PLENTY.)
But especially Akira loves Shuji and Nobuta SO MUCH. He even says, "Shuji and Nobuta come first in my heart, and I come last." I *love* him, how *ridiculous* and wonderful he is, and how he doesn't care what *anyone* thinks, how the little things make him so happy, and how he doesn't care about things like the huge amounts of money his father has, and the social status he *could* have. Oh, and things like personal space and gender roles either. <333
So. I need THREESOME FIC PEOPLE. I need it! This is good and yay friendship fics and slash fics but.
I need the fic where Akira comes into his inheritance and keeps Nobuta and Shuji in comfort and lets them do whatever projects they want and helps them and feeds them curry pan and gets them over their emotional and sexual hangups and they are all disgustingly cute with each other and have lots of sex and omg where is it I NEED CURTAIN FIC. (the shame... oh wait, it's gone.)

Oh my God. It's killing me. I can't. I can't. I have to take frequent breaks when watching. I can see how it's manipulating me, but I just can't help it! Hiroto is one of my favorite types of characters. There's the whole poor boy, rich girl thing, yeah. But it's more Hiroto himself that gets me. That romance is just a symptom of the things I like about him. His humble acceptance of himself at the bottom of the social hierarchy, his pride and determination to keep his business going, the way he'll do anything for those he loves, the way he thinks he has no intrinsic worth except what he can do for those he loves, the way he just totally lays himself on the line emotionally, the way he FIGHTS and gets BEATEN UP YES. Also he is PRETTY and DIRTY. mm. Seriously, though, when he knelt on the ground in front of the rich asshole in the bar, I was CRYING. GOD. And then the whole thing with the knife last episode! OMG. DANGER! Hospitals are your friend, Hiroto! Really!
Also I really hope they aren't going to the whole "she dies giving birth" place. They wouldn't do that to us... Right?
My one complaint is that there is like ZERO sexual tension between the two leads. They hit the *emotional* parts of the romance really well, but when they kiss, it's... not good. Which is SAD because the whole set-up is like something out of a porno. ALTHOUGH. Last episode she was all like "I'm okay with having sex." (Dude. I love how plain-spoken she is.) Anyway! This sad lack of sexual tension and/or porn onscreen is what fics are for! So... WHERE IS THE PORN? (Porn which makes note of his engine grease smears gets extra points!)
