1. Teen Wolf: So I have 4 rows of firefox tabs open with things I'm trying to make myself read. Between XMFC fics I can't face with the angst, HP Draco/Harry reclist fics which are huge and overwhelming, some spare long depressing Loki fics, what seems like the entire contents of shousetsu bangbang, and Auburn's huge but amazing SGA fics (which I will finish dammit!), all I want is MOAR TEEN WOLF. I followed the crowd and watched it all and am in the process of reading all the sterek. ALL OF IT. My favorite genre is Sheriff-finds-out! Followed by absent-from-Beacon-Hills-for-a-few-years-Stiles-comes-back-and-tries-to-negotiate-Derek's-previous-romantic-and-pack-rejection!
Followed by mpreg!Derek! Too bad the show makes noooo sense at all. At all. How do you logic?

2. Teen Wolf vids: These vids pimped me into the fandom. And these vids are good sterek vids!

3. Teen Wolf Cast: The cast is amazing. Posey is hilarious, and he and Dylan live together and are best friends irl! (I'm in Florida right now, and all the Posey for Congress yard signs I see are now hilarious.) And the cast writes our pack snuggling fics for us with their impromptu puppy piles! Danny makes everything 100% more entertaining. Finstock and Peter are so funny, Stiles and his dad are the Veronica+Keith Mars or Kurt+Burt Hummel heart of the show, and Derek is a hot mess. The breaking of the 4th wall with the official fanfic contest, Jeff Davis contemplating sterek, etc., doesn't freak me out as much as in other fandoms. The image of Tyler and Dylan refreshing tumblr for an hour after posting the "sterek ship" video makes me lol at their trolling, not cringe like at SPN's cruel fandom trolling (not you, Misha! ilu Misha!) or giggle/squirm like at the tongue-in-cheek fandom trolling of old school fandoms: Peter Wingfield sitting in Adrian Paul's lap at conventions, etc. The absence of condescension and the one-of-us feeling of the cast is key. They're all on twitter, they all know what fandom is doing, and Jeff Davis writes such an atmosphere of "gay calm," as Saucery put it, that the in-show universe has no homophobia as well. Maybe because they're a small show, so owe a lot to their fandom (and sterek fans, as the Jeff-appointed fandom alphas!)

4. Sterek: Despite Saucery's essay, I don't actually see any evidence for sterek in canon. The hottest canon moment was derek/jackson when Derek shoved Jackson against the locker to see his own mark on his neck. But her other essay helps to explain that fandom trend to make one pairing popular over others - by picking characters who are similar in some ways but complementary in others. Unlike other fanon couples like McShep, however, I care a lot about Stiles and Derek individually, so I can make them happy by smushing them together!

5. HAVEN SEASON 3 IS THE ACTUAL BEST I CANNOT HANDLE MY OT3 FEELINGS. Also, Nathan, stop being a jerk to Duke. I can't believe he got that tattoo without figuring out more about the secret society it belongs to.

6. Alphas: I watched the pilot and 2 random eps of s2, and omg. I love Stanton so much. In keeping with the X-men plot of the show, Dr. Rosen and Stanton have extreme slashy vibes, but unlike in X-men, I am fully TEAM STANTON. Partly because Dr. Rosen is not an alpha - unlike Charles who is a mutant, so less inclined to experiment on them - and partly because Dr. Rosen is even more of a hypocrite than Charles, with his non-consensual mind-controlling of his wife, the senator, everyone around him, betraying his daughter, betraying Stanton... Ugh. Plus I like Stanton's immortality. And that actor! I had no idea Sims from Jeremiah, Ox from HCL, and Brian Cullen from HL were all played by the same actor! A+. I enjoy Gary's character a lot. And CKR is in this show too as an FBI agent! He looks and acts so much like RayK it is amazing!!!

7. Speaking of X-men, holy crap, they killed Charles. They fridged him for Scott. No one cares about you and your manpain, Scott! How dare they say that the franchise outgrew Charles. Not being able to think of stories for such an interesting character is your failure as a writer - how dare you blame Charles for that! Okay. I take it back. KILL THEM ALL, ERIK.

Edit: I now realize that Erik is the one who asked Charles to help with Phoenix that led to his death. Oh, my Goooooood. And apparently the schism now is about Wolverine not agreeing with Scott who thinks that children should fight?! SCOTT, DIAF.

8. Looper: My friend wanted to go see it, so I did. But as I expected, it made no sense at all and made my brain hurt with both time paradoxes and extreme logic fail. Not to mention holes! And its message/symbolism was so anvil-like, it was annoying. MOTHERS MUST PRIORITIZE RAISING THEIR SONS ABOVE ALL. ALSO FARMING MAKES YOU A REAL WOMAN. The sex emergency made me lol, though. I'm sure JGL fans would all agree with her about the emergency. JGL did a great job speaking, looking, and smirking like Bruce Willis. Not sure why he needed makeup at all though, frankly. The hair loss time lapse was hilarious, as well. Who keeps their hair that long when they're losing it? Bruce Willis was... there? I didn't really care much about him or his mission, because his motivations contained so much logic fail I could not even. But naked JGL makes everything better.
